Hired and trained by the Xerox Corp in Leesburg, Virginia. I was trained to be a jack-of-all-trades. I was to have technical knowledge of all black and white production printing equipment. This included mainframe printers, DocuPrints, DocuTechs, and Document Centres. I worked out of the office in Springfield, Illinois, for 4 1/2 years and travelled throughout that state as calls were received. I was also trained in Xerox's older printing systems that they no longer support. There were many of them still in use and customers needed answers. I was there for them too. I was trained not only in the set up of all this equipment, but in the use, troubleshooting and configurations of all their individual "front-end" options. This included computers on all platforms such as mainframes, home and office PC's, MacIntosh, and Unix.
Corporate downsizing eliminated my position, but customers knew my name "James Clancy." Many located me in the local telephone book and began to contact me on the side as their preferred Analyst to interact with. I continued to answer all calls received.
I decided that I liked working with the customers as a representative for myself. The customers seemed to appreciate it more as well. So I discussed a consulting business with a local friend over our traditionally weekly game of POOL...and my "first company - Corner Pocket Consulting was born. The business grew and I later changed the name.
I liked what my start-up business was doing so much in its 1st year....I went and put my name on it! What used to be a small start-up called CornerPocketConsulting.com...is now JamesClancy.com Consulting.
I made it into my local Yellow pages! CLICK HERE
The business grows to this day with services in many varied areas! Some are repair, troubleshooting and building networks and computers, editing web pages, consulting on what computers can do for you, building them right for you, the customer, and saving money.
