Can not connect to internet? Using Linksys Router?

Can not connect to internet.  Using Linksys Router.

I happened across an odd, rarely used, solution for this today.
This would be your issue;
You have a computer connected to a Linksys Router, and the Router is connected to your modem. All lights are blinking, yet you do not have the internet.

First and foremost, do the basics.  Turn all 3 items off and turn them on in a specific order.
1st - Turn on the modem and let its lights all turn back on.
2nd- Turn on the router and let its lights turn back on.
3rd - turn on the computer.

If the internet still does not work, try this little gem.
Go to:  START- CONTROL PANEL.
then to ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
then on the LEFT COLUMN, choose ADD/REMOVE WINDOWS COMPONENTS
then scroll down to NETWORK SERVICES, click the button on the lower right that says DETAILS.

Normal instructions say that the only thing to be checked is the first item dealing with INTERNET GATEWAY.   Well not in "ALL" cases.  In a very few situations with only certain models of Linksys, that last option needs checked as well. "UPnP USER INTERFACE".   Check that..click OK, then NEXT. After a short loading procedure click FINISH.

See how the router will become identified with a balloon pop up by the clock.
POOF! The internet works! No reboot needed.
